Nestor’s Palace is the best preserved Mycenaean palace in Greece. Destroyed by a large fire in the late 13th or early 12th century but flourished for at least a century after it was built by King Nestor. Nestor participated in the Trojan War and even Homer in the Iliad, mentions him as a wise elder, whose the opinion was always respected by the Achaeans..
